Heretaunga Caravanning & Camping Newsletters

Heretaunga Caravan Club News
Kahutara School in Featherston was the site of the Joint Rally hosted by Wairarapa
Caravan Club, with members from Wellington and Heretaunga attending.
Then the Easter Bunny found us when we had our Easter Rally at Mowhanau Holiday Park,Kai Iwi Beach, and Don and Pamela distributed Easter Eggs and Hot Cross buns to our group for morning tea. The camp was full to bursting over the long weekend, with groups of children busy playing impromptu games of cricket and riding their bikes around. I had a heart stopping moment in the showers when a large weta crawled out of the drainpipe to join me in my ablutions not too far from my bare tootsies waving its feelers in the air. It was trying very hard to hang on tight against the flow of water and I was
terrified it would jump out and run up my bare leg!
Our up-coming rally for May is to be held at the Manawatu Caravan Club grounds in Foxton. On the plans is a visit to the local Bowling Club restaurant on Friday night which always puts on a very reasonably priced meal. No doubt the rally captains will have all sorts of other things to organised for the weekend.
