7TH TAPU CHRISTMAS BEACH BASH WEEKEND 2018
Thank you to everyone who attended the 7th annual Tapu Beach Bash week-end. Below is a review of the week-end highlights and a few photos’ for you to enjoy. It was also great to see the children enjoying themselves and joining in on the fun. Thursday “Chill Out” we had 10 vans come in. Friday “Meet & Greet” there were 23 vans, 2 tents and 3 cabins occupied. Highlight of the night was a visit from “Jonah from Tonga” along with the added bonus of a sausage sizzle and yummy pancakes for dessert.

Saturday a few more arrivals making 25 vans, 2 tents and 3 cabins occupied. Due to the weather, it was morning tea and games in the hall. With the light rain clearing it was time for some fresh air outside testing skills in mini golf for the afternoon. Prize Giving by special guest “Bridget (big boobs) Beacham” In the absence of Carol, the “Teeth Spitting” was won by a man and “Fluffy Ducks” was also won by a man – note from Neil “Harden up ladies – lol” note from Carol, just you guy’s wait until next year Sunday night “Overstayers Party” a brave 7 vans & 1 tent stayed on. Special acknowledgement, I would like to take this opportunity and on behalf of all those who attended, to sincerely thank Neil and Elaine along with those who work behind the scenes (you know who you are) for all the time and effort involved in bringing this awesome weekend together, without them, there would not be a weekend for all to enjoy

CHRISTMAS BASH AT TAPU 2017
Well it certainly lived up to it’s name and what a great friendly Rally it was. Some arrived on Thursday, while others arrived on Friday, we all had Happy Hour together outside then told to bring our plates over and dessert was supplied – Apple Shortcake slice and cream.
Everyone was given a gift – for some reason – they found a reason and a lot of fun and laughter.
It was great to see so many children there joining in with all the activities.

Saturday morning were the games- real competition these were. We had Golf, Disc Bowls and Petanque, at times the Golf was stopped so the fairway could be cut better (using a pair of scissors) Great fun was had by all. Afternoon was rest time to get ready for the Rocky Horror and Ghost Busters evening.
At Happy Hour we had Prize Giving which was a great 11 deal of fun.
Then everyone went back to their vans, caravans, tents to get dressed for the evening, it was great to see everyone taking part and getting into the spirit of the theme.
The cooks were busy all day getting the evening meal prepared – don’t know what to say here – it was FANTASTIC. I just don’t know what else to say. After the Mains that was moved away and out came the Desserts.
The meal over and on went the music and the dancing started.
The next morning cuppa with everyone (cake supplied) then members started to make their way home.
Thanks for another great Rally, looking forward to next years “Bash”.

We are hoping to have a combined rally with anyone who likes to join with us. It is to be held at Papa Aroha Motor Camp just north of Coromandel and is promoting great fishing as we will be on the beach area and one of our members will bring a small boat with an outboard motor for all who want to use it. I will probably be surf casting as it goes deep fairly quickly there. I will also have my smoker there. Camp fees are $15 per van per night with toilets and showers available. Not on power. The date will be some time after mid February.
My thoughts are to try the weekend after our CCNZ meeting on the 17th and rove up there for the 23rd to 25th February.
We could possibly get the Tapu motor camp on the way up for a similar rate, I haven't asked them yet. Please contact myself, Allan, or Neil Wakeling on 020 4090 4770 martyts@hotmail.com with any preferred dates and anyone interest in joining with us.
